Happiness. It's what almost everyone wants, but often seems so elusive. Our lives invite us to step into a space beyond the circumstances outside ourselves to find an opening into the happiness of our hearts that radiates out to all beings and instead of adding more logs to the fires of suffering, softly yet strongly commands a presence of peace. Consider the following to help you get there:
  • Take a walk in nature and let yourself listen to the sound of your boots on teh snow, or feel the fullness of each step. Look around. Notice. Breathe. Smile. Allow your body to relax into your pace, your breath, your being a part of all that is...observe how your body is made of the exact same "stuff" as the earth, air, water and light from the sun you see "outside" of you! You are connected!
  • Notice your primary "triggers" for getting angry, grumpy, sad, depressed or dishearted. See how many can be removed or limited by changes that are tangible: for example, less news. Maybe just catch up on Tuesdays and ignore it the rest of the week unless it is directly relevant to you. Or maybe it's something in your immediate environment that keeps bugging you. What options might solve it? Are there types of interactions you get sucked into that predictably lead you to feel annoyed, drained or in a bad mood? Are you willing to give up your addiction to them?
  • If you are down about the suffering in the world, find three ways each day to brighten somene's day. It could buying a stranger coffee, sending a note to a friend whose been on your mind or volunteering around an issue so you are doing the something you can do!
  • If you have blocks to happiness rooted in the past or in how you tend to think, consider a tool like tapping/EFT or The Healing Codes!
  • Consider if you are living your life's purpose. If not, who can help you get on it?
So step in to the freedom to be of service from your own happiness!
